4% Carolina Panthers -140

Carolina came in well for us Sunday, as we knew the wrong team was favored. Chicago coming off a TNF primetime win against a banged up and discombobulated TB. The Bears played a bit better than expected, but they really still could be a winless team this year. They are not a garbage team, by any means, but they have been getting some breaks this year. They should be on cloud 9, wondering how long it lasts. Carolina comes into the game with different energy. 0-2 and star player gets sidelined for much of the season, ugh. The new coach whipped this team into shape, and they have are now tied with TB for divisional lead at 3-2. They are coming together as a team, and there is nothing better than to be able to back teams with the energy of overcoming obstacles. Carolina comes home and it makes no sense to my metrics why this game isnt over a FG. Moneyline wager is in order because the Bears seem to make a habit of odd scoring and current ML is value. Carolina is a top 6-7 offensive team, if you can believe that. Both of these teams rate identical defensively, while we know the Bears have had troubles every game that fields an intact secondary. Expecting Carolina to cash for us again this week.

NEW ENGLAND -9
DENVER @ NEW ENGLAND | 10/18 | 1:00 PM EDT
YESTERDAY 1:40 PM
Denver will be without top running back Melvin Gordon and No. 1 tight end Noah Fant. On the flip side, the Pats get their two most important players back in Cam Newton and Stephon Gilmore. I generally don't like giving this many points but under 10 it's worthwhile here.

PITTSBURGH -182
CLEVELAND @ PITTSBURGH | 10/18 | 1:00 PM EDT

Pittsburgh has won 16 straight home meetings and Ben Roethlisberger typically puts up huge numbers versus the Browns. Baker Mayfield is overrated in my opinion, and he's been horrible in the fourth quarter. Look for him to make a couple costly mistakes as the Steelers make it 17 in a row.

OVER 55
GREEN BAY @ TAMPA BAY | 10/18 | 4:25 PM EDT
YESTERDAY 9:30 PM
This is a matchup for the ages, and I expect a lot of fireworks. Aaron Rodgers is getting back his top weapon in Davante Adams, and the Pack comes in averaging 38 points per game. Tom Brady also is getting a key weapon back in Chris Godwin. The Over is 8-1 in the Bucs' last nine home games and 15-4 in their last 19 overall. Green Bay has cashed the Over in 12 of its last 16 as a road favorite. Go Over.

UNDER 55.5
ARIZONA @ DALLAS | 10/19 | 8:15 PM EDT
9:37 AM
Andy Dalton, stand-in for the injured Dak Prescott, likely means a more cautious offensive approach for Dallas, particularly with the Cowboys’ twin standout OTs sidelined. Arizona has yet to reach an Over all season, in large part because its defense has permitted the fifth fewest points per game. The Cardinals’ offense has been a notch below dynamic, and a rare third consecutive road game could result in sluggishness.

UNDER 46
CINCINNATI @ INDIANAPOLIS | 10/18 | 1:00 PM EDT
9:36 AM
Cincy figures to score little, what with QB Joe Burrow under siege lately and the Colts’ unforgiving nature on defense. The unit’s yards yield each game is 26 better than the No. 2 stingiest squad. Completing the case for an Under is Indy’s offensive concerns. QB Philip Rivers is giving off signs of decreased arm power and less awareness in the pocket. The average rush of 3.6 yards ranks ahead of only one team.

DETROIT -3
DETROIT @ JACKSONVILLE | 10/18 | 1:00 PM EDT
FRI 10/16
With rest, the Lions have covered in seven of their last eight outings. The Jags rush the passer poorly, which should provide oodles of time for QB Matthew Stafford, and he can slice up a defense that ranks last in opponents’ yards per catch. Ace WR Kenny Golladay is rounding into form after his season’s start was delayed by injury. Lay the field goal.

L.A. RAMS @ SAN FRANCISCO | 10/18 | 8:20 PM EDT
FRI 10/16
Will Jimmy Garoppolo last more than one half? The San Fran QB was yanked last Sunday and could get chased out again by a defense whose 20 sacks is tied for most in the league. The Niners have yielded 18. L.A. has endured three trips to the Eastern time zone, so this commute will feel like a walk down the block. The 49ers are winless at home, with straight-up Ws only against the New York twins. The spread belongs closer to a TD.

Not even Bill Belichick’s coaching playbook contains a master plan for dealing with disruptions related to COVID-19. The latest in a series of stops-and-starts happened Friday, when another positive test resulted in a cancelled practice. The team’s facility has been open just one day this week. QB Cam Newton (COVID-19) is on tap to return but could be rusty. The Broncos welcome back RB Phillip Lindsay (toe) and QB Drew Lock (shoulder) from injury layoffs.
